There are many words in English, Which are pronounced the same but have different meanings and spellings.



  1. Loose/Lose
    To lose something is to misplace something.
    Whereas, loose describes the lace of tightness or means to set something free.

  2. Principal/Principle
    The principal is the most important person, usually the head of a school.
    And, principles are beliefs or rules.

  3. Complement/Compliment/Complimentary
    Compliments are praises or approval, an admiring remark.
    to say that something is complimentary can also mean that it is free, or comes in addition to something you already have.
    A complement is something that is added to something else to improve the qualities of each.

  4. Desert/Dessert
    A desert is a dry, desolate place (Noun).
    Deserted means that something is abandoned.
    Dessert is a course that comes at the end of a meal, usually consisting of sweet food.
